Ah, the classic dilemma: to buy or to remodel? For this client, the choice was clear. They loved their location and property, but the existing house no longer fit their lifestyle. The solution was a complete re-imagining of the home, creating an open floor plan with seamless indoor-outdoor entertaining spaces. A top priority was a luxurious owner’s suite, complete with his-and-hers closets, a connected laundry room, and an adjacent master sitting room—perfect for quiet moments away from guests. Every decision focused on enhancing both function and comfort while maintaining a strong connection to the home’s natural setting.
Modern Rustic Retreat
Timber frame details were carefully incorporated throughout the design, complementing the craftsman-inspired architecture of the remodeled exterior. A welcoming front porch greets visitors, while a large gabled porch attached to the great room expands entertaining areas and blurs the line between indoors and out. These spaces encourage gathering, relaxation, and appreciation of the property’s surroundings.
Rustic materials, including rough-sawn wood, natural stone, and metal accents, were blended thoughtfully to create a rich textural palette. The result is a modern rustic aesthetic that feels timeless yet contemporary, balancing warmth, craftsmanship, and functionality throughout the entire home.
